International cooperation
The Center for Ibero-American Studies maintains intense contacts with numerous European as well as American university centers. Closer cooperation is being realized with scientific and academic centers in Spain (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas in Madrid; Escuela de Estudios Hispano - Americanos in Sevilla, Universidad de la Laguna at Tenerife), in Germany ( University of Cologne ; Ibero-American Institute in Berlin ), Polonia (Center for Latin American Studies in Warsaw ), Mexico (Colegio de México, Universidad de Morelia, TEC Monterrey) etc. The Center is being regularly visited by professors and researchers from Europe as well as America who present o the students and academics of the Center the newest results of the work of international scientific community. Among these, Pro Franklin Knight, Nathan Wachtel, Horst Pietschmann, Antonio Saez Arance, Alfonso de Toro, Allan Kuethe and others can be named.
Possibilities for student mobility
There are three contracts within the frame of the programme ERASMUS: with Universidad de La Laguna and Universidad de Barcelona of Spain and the University of Warsaw, Polonia. The students of the Center can also take advantage of the Erasmus contacts of other departments of the Faculty of Arts in case these are not used by the students of these departments. Besides, there is a possibility for semestral stay at offered by the TEC Monterrey (Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey) in Mexico, as well as study stays offered by governmental treaties of students of postgraduate programm (Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Chile).
Summer school for Mexican students
Since 2000 the Center for Ibero-American Studies has been organizing, within the frame of the contract between TEC Monterrey and Charles University in Prague, summer school focused on Central European history and culture.
