The collective monograph, edited by Juan Pro, Monika Brenišínová and Elena Ansótegui, is now available from Iberoamericana Vervuert. The monograph explores the link between America and utopia through twelve essays and twelve different perspectives. The wide range of topics deals with the development of utopian ideas and myths from the conquest and colonization of the New World to their role at the current political imagination. The monograph also thematizes utopian literature, seeking its reflection in art, in social movements and revolutions – both in European cultural projections and in real Latin American utopian aspirations.
